Josh Taylor eyes world title tilt with fight against Humberto Soto in Glasgow

Josh Taylor, 11-0-0, will be looking to build on a fantastic 2017 when he faces former two-weight world champion Humberto Soto, 66-9-2, at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow on the 3rd of March.

Taylor faces his second Mexican former world champion in as many fights after superbly finishing Miguel Vazquez last time out. ‘The Tartan Tornado’ had an excellent year in which he also silenced, albeit briefly, Ohara Davies wihtin 7 rounds back in July. Wins over Davies then Vasquez have seen Taylor rise the 5th in the WBC rankings with the Silver belt in tow.

Taylor stopped the experienced former world title holder, Miguel Vasquez, in Edinburgh two months ago.

Taylor believes it will be ‘a hard, action packed fight’ and that they will ‘meet in the center of the ring and go toe-to-toe’. The fight will be broadcast live on Channel 5 so be sure to tune in to see if Taylor’s predictions come to fruition.

The show being billed as ‘Scotland’s Finest’ features undefeated Scot, Jason Easton attempting to become the Commonwealth Super Lightweight champion against Sunderland’s Glenn Foot. The undercard will also feature Joe Ham, Lee McGregor, Charlie Flynn and Martin Bakole against unnamed opponents.
